Community Aid - Two Ladies Caring (TLC) Dog Rescue

Story by: Robyn Woodside

Two Ladies Caring (TLC) Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer 501 c3 non-profit no-kill dog rescue that was founded in order “to reduce the number of dog euthanasia, to save lives, [and] to educate the public on how important it is to spay [and] neuter your pet[s].” Founded by Tamara Hudson, as well as run by Michelle Beausoleil, they share the importance of their business: “We are small but mighty. Us ladies and all volunteers work full-time jobs to pay our bills, which means a hundred percent of all donations go to care[,] feeding[,] and even spoiling the less fortunate rescue babies.” They rescue dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and personalities.

Two Ladies Caring Dog Rescue not only provides much-needed living conditions for dogs that do not have a home, but they also provide veterinary care, including for any medical needs. Dogs are provided training while meeting their physical and mental needs in an active environment. Their days include group playtime, stress-free training, and lots of off-leash exercises. The rescue also supplies microchips, as well as spaying and neutering.

Through their work, they also have provided life-changing and life-saving care for these animals. One dog had surgery on gallstones, providing him much-needed relief. Another had surgery to repair the liver shunt, allowing the opportunity for a long and healthy life. A blind dog also had his sight restored, giving him the ability to truly be a dog and live a very happy life. This dog rescue not only provides food and shelter for dogs, but they do so much more.

The biggest challenge this organization faces is finding and keeping dedicated, long-term foster homes for the pets they take in. They also have trouble with funds for larger vet bills. You can show your support for this amazing business and all of the wonderful animals they take care of by sharing their business and mission to get their name out there, providing donations, if possible, and considering fostering or adopting a dog from the rescue.

You can check them out on social media on their website twoladiescaringdogrescue.org. Their website includes pictures of the dogs available for adoption, and an adoption questionnaire, if you are interested in adopting. You can also find a list of their adoptable dogs on petfinder.com, Facebook, and clarksvilleonline.com. If you’re unable to commit to adopting one of these amazing dogs, you can also opt to foster. All homes that decide to take in a dog, either through adoption or fostering, are thoroughly vetted to ensure these animals are placed in caring households that can meet their needs.

There are also multiple ways to donate. Donation channels include monetary donations through PayPal or CashApp, as well as an Amazon list or Walmart pickup for food, toys, and much more. Your donations are used for transportation of the animals, vaccinations, including heartworm and flea prevention and treatment, spaying or neutering, microchips, veterinary care, food and treats, toys, and boarding. Any donation made will definitely make a difference for these animals.
