Recently in a new location, you can find O Hayden Baby + Kids boutique in downtown Clarksville. O Hayden was opened almost three years ago by Ariel Parker. Ariel named her business after her two sons, Owen and Hayden. Micah, her husband, and Ariel met at Austin Peay State University while a part of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity (SigEp) and Chi Omega sorority (Chi O). Before deciding to run her own business, Ariel was a middle school teacher for five years followed by an Instructional Technology Integration Coach for the school system before leaving to fully launch and operate O Hayden.
Opening in June of 2022, Ariel started her boutique with the goal of having the impact of “each time you buy something new, make it a tradition to donate something that you no longer use.” O Hayden is primarily a boys boutique; however, girl and gender-neutral options are also offered, as well as toys, accessories, and more. Popular items, such as bamboo pajamas and outfits, snapbacks, and non-toxic sensory play dough kits, can be found here, but usually fly off the shelves. They are known for offering trendy clothing, ranging in size from preemie to tween, in addition to organic and eco-friendly options in over half of their products.
Ariel’s inspiration behind O Hayden came from her desire to always own her own business. She shares, “With my husband’s schedule and having two sweet little boys back-to-back, it was a no-brainer that it was time to make it happen.” She adds, “After having two boys, I quickly realized how hard it was to find cute, quality clothes for them that not every boy in town also had or was not covered in dinos and trucks.” That is how O Hayden was born.
Ariel shares that as a boy mom of two, her mission in her business is “to give back locally in our community and provide sustainability.” She said that they are always finding ways to give back to their community, through local foster families and YaiPak, for example. O Hayden also launched Upcycled Kids, last year, where you can bring in gently used boutique items and receive 25-35% off new products for exchanging what you have. These gently used items can also be shopped in-store and online, as well. The goal of Upcycled Kids is for everyone “to be able to find something special in our store for their little ones, no matter the price.”
Around the holidays, O Hayden offers events, as well, such as last year’s event for kids to create their own trucker hats, courtesy of Make It Plain Trucker Hat Bar. If you’re interested in events and deals that O Hayden offers throughout the year, make sure to follow their social media pages; they tell you all about what they are offering and where to find them at events or pop-ups.
You can visit O Hayden to purchase their products by visiting their Clarksville location on Franklin Street, or you can visit their booth at Painted Tree Boutique in Franklin.
Also, their website keeps an inventory of their items, and can ship to you nationwide! Ariel shared that “many people still don’t realize we have a full working website where you can shop everything in our store online and choose shipping or in-store pickup, including our sales. Online, you can receive 10% off your first purchase, but we also offer military, teacher, first responders, nurses, etc. discounts in-store with a valid ID.”
If you’re interested in browsing a locally-owned boutique that offers trendy options for everyone, take a stroll downtown to visit O Hayden!
