Park of the Month: Henslee Park – A Must-Visit as Summer Approaches!
With warmer days on the way, there’s no better time to plan a visit to one of Dickson’s most exciting outdoor spots—Henslee Park! This month, we're thrilled to feature this all-in-one destination that’s packed with fun for the whole family. Whether you’re looking to splash around, get active, or just unwind in nature, Henslee Park has something for everyone.
Make a Splash – April 14 Reopening!
Mark your calendars! The popular Henslee Park Splash Pad officially kicks off its season on Monday, April 14. Now in its third year, this 4,000-square-foot water play area includes 20 exciting features designed to keep kids cool and entertained all day long.
Right next to it, you’ll find a massive 25,000-square-foot playground with 26 features built for climbing, swinging, sliding, and exploring. Both are part of the 126-acre park that the City of Dickson has been transforming into a top-tier community space since acquiring the former Dickson Country Club property in 2018.
More Than Just Water Fun
Henslee Park offers much more than the Splash Pad and Playground. Enjoy 4+ miles of paved trails for walking, biking, or jogging, or spend a quiet moment at one of the fishing ponds. Bring your four-legged friend to the fenced Dog Park, or take the little ones on a magical journey down the Storybook Trail. Love disc golf? You’ll find a full 18-hole course ready to play. Plus, there’s plenty of open green space for picnics, games, or just relaxing under the sun.
Splash Pad Hours:
Monday–Saturday: 8:00 am–8:00 pm
Wednesday: 4:00 pm–8:00 pm (Closed in the morning for cleaning)
Sunday: 12:00 pm–8:00 pm
Playground Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday–Sunday: Sunrise–10:00 pm
Wednesday: 4:00 pm–10:00 pm
The Splash Pad stays open from mid-April through Fall Break (weather permitting), making it a perfect warm-weather getaway.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind:
Shaded benches and picnic tables are first-come, first-served.
Please avoid placing chairs or tables on turf and play surfaces—use grassy areas instead.
No food allowed in play or splash zones—help us keep the park clean!
Kids must be supervised, and all play equipment should be used safely.
Pets are welcome on leash in the park but not inside the Splash Pad or Playground. The Dog Park is the only off-leash space.
For everyone’s safety, wheeled devices like scooters, skateboards, and roller blades aren’t permitted in the play or pavilion areas.
Water and sunshine can make surfaces slippery or hot—wear appropriate shoes and watch your step!
Parking is available just above the Splash Pad, with more spots near the Dog Park and along the main entrance road. Please avoid driving or parking in grassy areas.
While you’re in town, don’t forget to explore Downtown Dickson, where you’ll find a variety of locally owned restaurants, unique shops, and the Copper Petal’s Dickson location—perfect for a little shopping or a bite to eat after your park adventure!
